Irwin Mitchell secures takeover of top PI boutique
26/04/2006
The tie-up will see the national firm operate under the Irwin Mitchell banner after absorbing the 12-partner boutique’s three regional offices in London, Solihull and Altrincham.
The union, which will forge a 113-partner firm, will further cement Irwin Mitchell’s commanding position in the claimant personal injury sector, bringing in Alexander Harris’ respected catastrophic injury practice.
Iwrin Mitchell managing partner Howard Culley said: “Our vision is to be one of the leading firms in the UK, offering specialist legal services to private individuals as well as to businesses and other institutions.”
Both firms currently have key roles in a number of high-profile personal injury cases including the ongoing Vioxx group action.
Alexander Harris managing partner Ann Alexander said: “We have consistently punched above our weight and I am delighted to bring our accumulated skills and experience to Irwin Mitchell.”
The move is a coup for the national giant, which broke the £100m fee income barrier for the first time in 2005.
